Main refurbishment works have now begun at The Square, Camberley, taking the shopping centre one step closer to its brand-new look.
Following the purchase of the centre by Surrey Heath Borough Council last November, the development was kick started in May, with the painting of the high-level structure.
The first phase of the investment on Grace Reynolds Walk started on 24th July and is due to be completed before Christmas trading. The works will take place outside trading hours to minimise any disruption to customers and retailers. Phased work on the remaining areas will begin in early 2018.
The plans will provide a fresh, modern new look to include new lighting, flooring, pilaster and facades.
Councillor Moira Gibson, Leader of Surrey Heath Borough Council, said: “We are delighted to see the refurbishment works for the Centre begin in earnest, a key element of the delivery of our key priority of regenerating Camberley Town Centre.”
Glen Fulton, General Manager of The Square Camberley said: “We are very pleased that the long-awaited refurbishment works have begun. We look forward to delivering a brand new shopping experience to our customers and retailers.’’
